In order to be scientific, we have to think. This requires practice, time and the right environment. Simple ideas are the best to get started with. Things like short challenges at the start of the day or lesson for children to think and to then crucially, articulate their ideas and even more importantly, their reasons for thinking it! There are many different tools to help with this, and Tony Ryan’s Thinkers Keys are some some really good starting points. Some of my slides I produce use the same ideas, even though I had no idea who Tony Ryan was when I first started doing this as a class activity!
